New Balance signs Raheem Sterling
New Balance have signed Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling after his contract with Nike elapsed
Sterling's deal with Nike ended at the end of last season and he has been mulling over a lot of lucrative offers from all the major sportswear giants included Adidas
Puma proposed a £100M deal to Sterling but he rejected it as he wanted in excess of £150M. Puma did not accept because of the fallout of the Coronavirus pandemic which has affected their finances
And now American firm New Balance have won the race to land the global superstar, with the pair set to collaborate across performance and lifestyle products
After signing the deal Sterling said to the media;
There's so much more I want to achieve, both on and off the pitch, and this partnership will provide me with the platform to do so.' Growing up all I dreamt of was playing football,
'From kicking a ball around in Brent with my mates to my first Champions League Final on May 29th and representing my country at this summer's European Championships, in my hometown.
Rash Sports News understands, it is a long-term deal and the financial package is yet to be communicated
