Barcelona in talks to sign Xavi

BARCELONA IN TALKS TO SIGN NEW COACH

Barcelona are in talks to sign Al Sadd manager Xavi Hernández after manager Ronald Koeman was sacked right after their loss to Rayo Vellacano last Wednesday night.

Koeman was sacked because of poor results he's churned out recently with Laporta stating that he should have been sacked long ago
Looking back it is easy to analyse, we felt Koeman deserved confidence to recover some injured players and it was a way to motivate the manager.

“I looked for some positives. Probably we had to make an earlier decision, I assume the responsibilities of this decision.”

Xavi has enjoyed great performances from his side since last season as he's unbeaten the whole of this season in about 27 games so far

Club President Juan Laporta was asked if Xavi is the one to replace Koeman he said he believed Xavi will coach Barcelona one day but couldn't tell when

I have always said one day [Xavi] will be Barca’s head coach but I don’t know when,” said Laporta.

He added: “We have great references about Xavi at Al Sadd. All our reports about Xavi are positive. We can talk a lot about Xavi, but I cannot give you more details. He is in all the papers, but we also have other options.”

Laporta was adamant to reveal to journalists if Xavi will sign for the Catalan giants but Rash Sports News can confirm they are in talks, with Al Sadd wanting over £1M from Barcelona as part of the deal

Sergi Barjuan will be Barça's new interim coach till they find a new manager and will be in charge of their game this weekend in La Liga
